the weird girls

Some colour and cuteness inspiration for ya. You're welcome.

I've been watching a lot of girly shows lately, I'm obsessed and I can't get enough. The most recent one is Zooey Deschanel's New Girl. I had no idea until recently how good it is and I can honestly say that that show has made me laugh out loud more than any other. It's genius. Others I've given a try: 2 Broke Girls, the cheap looking and very unlolworthy sitcom that's somehow charming anyway, and the horribly titled Don't trust the B in apartment 23 which is adorable and The Bitch is cute and wears awesome stuff. Then there were those that died too young and only lasted 1 season (although they do not fit into the weird and awkward theme): There was The Ex-List, which was entirely mediocre but somehow addictive and everyone was so fit and healthy and surfing and throwing frisbees on the beach and whatnot. That was my workout show for obvious reasons. And my first ever favourite feelgood girly show, Miss Match from 2003. Alicia Silverstone was in it. I don't need to explain myself. So yeah my point being, I need more. Any suggestions? All comments telling me to get off my ass and do something worthwhile will be reluctantly deleted because I like comments... Oh and I can't wait for the next season of Girls. Yay for weird girls on tv.

By the way, have any of you tried bidding on stuff on ebay? That is the most frustrating thing ever. I found this lovely little 60s short sleeve dress and put it on my ebay watch list. I had never done the auction thing, but the dress was so beautiful and green and the starting price was very low so I had to. Even though I had to wait until 5am for the madness to begin.
Anyway, there was a lot of panicky bidding in the last seconds and some "shit shit shit what's going on?!??!??" And I guess I was quarter of a second too late with my last bid and the word SOLD in red pierced right through my brain and into my soul (yes it did) and I was all confused thinking "What happened?!?! Wait, did I win... no... I LOST!?" and yes, my beautiful dress had been sold to someone else for a measly 22 dollars and yes, I'm still bummed about it. I guess this is for pros only or people who have some automatic bidding robot, not us mere humans. Sadface.

  2. this is how I win stuff on ebay:
    1. find an item, place a low bid (basically .50cents higher than whatever the current bid is). You're not going to win with that bid, obviously, but it gets your foot in the door.
    2. Wait until the last few minutes of the auction. Open up "one click bid" (you can do this now that you've made an initial bid). Fill in whatever is the absolute highest you would pay for that item. But don't push "enter bid" yet.
    3. Wait until there is about 10 seconds left. Watch and see what the highest bid entered is. Hopefully you won't have to alter what you've entered in the box. Finally, at 5 seconds if all looks good, click "enter" on your bid. 5 sec is too fast for anyone else to bid so you win!
Usually I don't end up paying that highest amount that I've entered but something in between what the current bid was and my amount (because that's how ebay works).

    Enjoy :)
